Movie Meetinghouse at the theater

Some movies are best seen on the big screen with an audience. Theatrical runs promote movies and naturally stimulate social interaction.

Unlike the old Hollywood distribution system of film prints and advertising, digitally screening a movie costs the moviemaker next to nothing. With Mmh clubs, MovieMakers can reach an audience with almost no upfront promotional costs.

Mmh clubs can book theaters to screen movies especially for their member events. These club events could cater to singles or other demographic groups or can be content driven, with movie nights centered around documentaries, horror flicks, anime or other movie types. Movies can be booked once a week or once a month giving friends or strangers a regular place to meet and share the movie experience.

Digital Theater owners can also register their theaters on the site as a venue equipped to show digital movies. They inform presenters of when the theater is available for booking club screening, the rental price of the theater, or the percentage of ticket sales the theater requires.

Theater seats are empty most of the time.  With DIgital projection,
unlike 35 mil prints, a theater can show a different movie at every
screening.

Digital theaters can book a movie once a month to build a following or cater to local clubs for off-hour screenings of specialized “long tail” movies.
